So our family finally got to take a vacation! We were so lucky to be able to take our kids on a little road trip. We left Friday morning and went to Idaho Falls to have dinner with some great friends and their kids. We had pizza and laughed, and the kids played so hard I thought Kole would be in a comma the rest of the trip. Saturday morning we got up and went with our friends into Yellowstone Park. We each had walkie talkies which made it so much fun! Saturday we did the lower half of the park, Old Faithful, a few small stop here and there, and then we exited out of the east side and went to Cody WY. I LOVE CODY!!! The shops are amazing, and Kalia and I walked out with a new pair of boots. J Kole would have gotten boots but instead he chose a super hero toy, which I was kind of grateful for because he really didn’t care about the boots and they were pretty expensive, much more than a toy. J Sunday morning we went back into the park except we entered through the north entrance which I have never done. It was gorgeous!!!!! Sunday was my favorite day of the whole vacation. I FINALLY was able to fulfill a child hood dream of mine to see a bear in Yellowstone. I have waited over 25 yrs for that day and I was able to share it with my family. I know it’s silly but it was an amazing experience. Also we didn’t just see one bear, we saw 3. Yes that’s right 3! We saw a mommy black bear and her cub, and about 15 min after we left her we saw a massive grizzly bear. Half of my pictures didn’t turn out because I was so excited and shaking. It was just like Christmas morning for me. J Just shortly after that we had to part ways with our friends and they went back to Idaho Falls and we stayed in the park and then went back to Cody. On our way back to Cody we saw a mommy moose and her calf. SOOOO CUTE! Monday we got up and drove to Lander WY to see my brother where Kole thought he was in heaven. He had 6 cousins who all wanted to play with him all day and all night! Even Kalia allowed them to hold her, which mom and dad were loving. My brother took us to feed some massive trout up the canyon, and we got to see some gorgeous country with him. It is always so much fun to hang out with him and his family. I really miss his family and wish they could live closer. Ben was so funny too that day. I would tell you all the stories of all the silly things he did and said but you really would have to be there to appreciate it. Needless to say he almost had me peeing my pants from laughing so hard.
WHAT AN AMAZING VACATION!!!! I am so blessed to have such a GREAT husband and such WONDERFUL kids, I don’t know what I would do without them. This vacation brought so many memories back to me from when I was a child and I want those same memories for my family. I hope I can step up to the plate and help make them. I hope everyone enjoys the pics below, we sure did.
